Faculty

Building good relationships with faculty is essential throughout your Iowa State years. The impression you reflect on faculty may affect you some way in the future. These acquantances may be helpful for references and maybe even internships.

Teachers are people too. Teachers can tell wether you've tried in their class or not. When the end of the semester comes teachers can help your grade. If you have a low grade and the teacher knows you've tried they might bump up the grade if it's close enough.

So far I've not had conversation with any of my instructors outside of class, but during class I show them that I'm trying. I do this by paying attention, taking notes, and doing my work. I need to get to know my teachers a little better. I know that by doing this I will be benefited in the future.

Other fuculty members are also good to get to know. They might be helpful not only as references, but you might also get some inside info. The more you know and you get along with faculty members, the bigger your advantage will be over other people.

Clubs

I attended club fest and I saw various clubs and organizations that I'm interested in. Although i would like to join, I'm unable due to schedule conflicts and financial issues.

The first club that stood out the most to me was the hapkido club. To me it stood out the most because I've heard about it before from a couple friends. I would join this club because I find this type of martial art interesting.

Project D.R.E.A.M.S. is another organization that stood out. This organization stood out to me because I've been involved with this before. I was part of project D.R.E.A.M.S. my senior year of high school and I had a lot of fun. I was planning on joining, but in order to do so I need a G.P.A. I might join next year when I have one.

Another club that stood out to me was the Cuffs club. I remember it because it was something unusuall and very unexpected. Clubfest was a lot of fun. I learned a lot of new info about Iowa State and it's different clubs.
